Founder, Lead Guide and Instructor of Adventure Fit Academy. Certified Outdoor Guide, Retired firefighter with thirty years experience in outdoor and fitness education. Dedicated to teaching healthy lifestyle practices and the benefits of outdoor adventure for longevity and quality of life.
An ingrained passion for outdoor adventure and healthful living, experience in leading backpacking trips into the Grand Canyon for over twenty-five years. Positive and relaxed personality combined with serious expertise – everybody’s guide. Patient, professional demeanor provides outstanding leadership and adventure on every trip. Guides and instructs classes in backpacking, kayaking, biking, adventure fitness training, wilderness survival, and forest & nature therapy.
Twenty years experience instructing fitness and nutrition classes in the college environment, A Certified Master Fitness Trainer and Board of Experts with the NFPT (National Federation of Personal Trainers) Advanced First Aid / CPR / AED Certified Red Cross Instructor, BLS & Wilderness Emergency Care Level 9 Instructor /ASHI, Leave No Trace Certified Instructor, Rope Rescue Advanced Certified Instructor, specialized training as a paramedic emergency medical technician and Swift Water Rescue.
